MasTek, Inc. exhibited at the NDIA 28th Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA.  The Navy Gold Coast Conference theme was, “The Business of Innovation”, and the goal is to educate, guide, and assist businesses in working with the Department of Defense.  This year the Navy Gold Coast event had over 1,500 industry contractors, government and non-profit attendees which is a 15% increase from the previous conference.  Roughly 200 companies exhibited which is a substantial increase from the 100 exhibitors the previous year.

The Navy Gold Coast Conference offers numerous networking and educational workshops for its exhibitors and attendees.  With the recent boom in innovative technologies, it came to no surprise that Cyber Security was a highly discussed topic at the conference.  Vice President of MasTek and cyber security expert, Carlos Mendizabal, attended the “Cyber Panel with Navy Leadership and Industry” workshop where he engaged in the cyber security discussions with various Navy representatives.

A highlight of the Navy Gold Coast Event is when Rear Admiral James R. McNeal, who is the Commander of NAVSUP Global Logistics Support presented the Reserve and National Guard “Twice a Citizen” Award to four of our countries most honorable service men.  All recipients of this prestigious award demonstrate outstanding professional performance and excel far above all expectations placed upon them in the line of duty.

MasTek had the pleasure to meet and network with several people from various industries ranging from government agencies, contractors, and even drone technology companies.  As a result, the NDIA 28th Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event was a success for the MasTek team and we look forward to the next conference in 2017.
